Baby Dragon

Baby Dragons have lower housing space, health, and damage than Dragons. They are faster though.

Unlike the Dragon, the Baby Dragon has a unique ability, it gains a significant attack speed boost when not near other air units. This ability is commonly known as the "Tantrum" ability.

So even though baby dragons do deal lower base damage than dragons, the differences in damage can be overcome with their tantrum ability.

With their lower housing space, unique tantrum ability, and faster speed, Baby Dragons are perfect for clean-up and funneling.

Highlights:

  • Gains an attack speed boost when not near other friendly air troops
  • Excellent for clearing outer buildings quickly to create a path for main troops
  • Perfect clean-up troop

Witch

The witch's base stat are bad, it is her ability of summonining skeletons to aid in battle that makes her good.

The summoned skeletons can preoccupy single-target defences like the cannons, archer towers, and inferno towers.

The only real weaknessess of the witch are multi-target defences and having no tank or skeletons to soak up damages.

Highlights:

  • Summons a constant stream of skeletons, distracting defenses and protecting main troops
  • Vulnerable without a tank to soak up damage
  • Skeletons are an exellent clean-up crew

Lava Hound

The lava hound is the Air version of Golem. The only real differences are the fact that it is an air troop and that its favorite target are Air Defences.

Like the Golem, when it dies, it will spawn multiple lava pups when it gets destroyed.

Highlights:

  • Serves as a tank unit that is airborne
  • Targets Air Defences first, then other defences
  • Spawns multitudes of lava pups upon death

New Spells Available For Town Hall 9

Spell Max lvl Housing Space Effects
Jump Spell 1 2 Allows friendly units to jump over walls inside its radius.
Freeze Spell 2 1 Freezes buildings and enemy units inside the radius for a period of time.
Haste Spell 2 1 Increases Attack Speed and Movement Speed of units inside the radius.
Skeleton Spell 1 1 Spawns multitudes of Skeletons inside its radius.


Jump Spell

The Jump Spell creates a temporary pathway over walls, allowing your troops to bypass obstacles and access deeper into enemy bases.

Its effect does not last long at level 1, however, so be sure to upgrade this spell ASAP if you are a fan of using ground-focused armies.

Highlights:

  • Effective for enabling ground troops to reach crucial targets, like the enemy Town Hall or other crucial defences, quickly and efficiently
  • Upgrade the Jump Spell as fast as possible if you actively use ground-based armies

Freeze Spell

The Freeze Spell, true to its name, temporarily freezes enemy defenses and troops within its radius, rendering them unable to attack or defend for a short duration.

Having several Freeze Spells at hand is quite useful against Inferno Towers and other higher level Town Hall Defences like the Eagle Artillery and Scattershot.

The freeze spell is versatile and can be used in any type of army. Be sure to prioritize upgrading this first.

Highlights:

  • Freezes the sorrounding defences and enemy troops and heroes for a short duration
  • The freeze spell is versatile; it can be used in any type of army.

Haste Spell

The Haste Spell is the Rage Spell's little brother, it does the same thing as a rage spell, but slightly worse in effect.

The Haste Spell, like the Rage Spell, increases the movement speed of troops within its radius without increasing their attack speed.

Unlike the Rage Spell, it has a housing space of 1 instead of 2, has a smaller radius, and does not provide boost the attack damage itself

The duration of the spell is the only thing that the haste spell beats on (well, not including the housing space).

Highlights:

  • Increases attack speed and movement speed of friendly units inside its radius
  • Ideal to use with high-damage but slow troops like balloons

Skeleton Spell

The Skeleton Spell, as you might have guess, summons a group of skeletons in an area.

Its main purpose is to distract and overwhelm enemy defenses. This provides cover for your main attacking troops.

Highlights:

  • Summons multitudes of skeletons inside the spell's radius
  • Skeletons serves as distractions to enemy defenses

New Hero

Archer Queen

The Archer Queen is our first unlockable ranged hero. The Queen is versatile and can perform multiple roles, but I usually treat her either the main DPS or a funneler.

The Queen first two abilities are the Archer Puppet and the Invisibility Vial.

The Archer Puppet spawns groups or archers to aid the Queen, while the Invisibilty Vial cloaks the Queen, granting her invisibilty for a period of time.

Highlights:

  • Being a long-range and high dps hero, the Queen is capable of quickly taking down enemy defenses and buildings
  • Combined with Healers, she can clear significant portions of the base, creating a funnel for the main attack
