What is Ethics? And Why does it Exist? - A daytime thought
A daytime thought I had about what ethics is and why it exists.
Why does Ethics Exist?
Let's see...
Ethics exists...because communities exist.
This is true, because without ethics, striving communities cannot exist.
Communities that are without ethics invite productivity and unity issues, making them weaker in any development (developments in technology, productivity, economics, military, etc) than a community with ethics.
Ethics then are spoken and/or unspoken rules and norms that people inside a community agreed upon.
Therefore ethics exists because communities exist.
With that in mind, we can then deem anything that is harmful to the productivity and unity of the community as evil as it leads to a future that is undesirable.
While anything that improves productivity and unity can be considered good because it maintains order to the community.
Ethics then can be considered as the glue that holds communities together; without it, hell breaks loose.
